About Me

I didn’t get into fitness until later in life. It wasn’t until my late 20’s when I started prioritizing exercise, and even then I struggled with consistency. My pattern was to train for short-term goals, like for a race, or a wedding, but I never found a way to make exercise a regular part of a regular day. A lot of my exercise was done with the superficial goal of losing weight, and changing the number on the scale.

After having my second daughter, I began to prioritize going to the gym as I noticed how much it was benefiting my mental health. Following a big move across the country when she turned one, I decided to make what I thought would be a temporary career switch, and I became a certified personal trainer and group fitness coach at OrangeTheory. I love working with members and watching their confidence grow as they become stronger and faster!

The pandemic is truly responsible for my next shift in mindset and focus. Prior to the pandemic, I was working out 5 or 6 times a week, but paying little attention to my nutrition. When gyms in Toronto were forced to close, and stay closed, I began to learn about and focus more on my nutrition as a more sustainable way to achieve my goals. I surprised myself with the results I was able to realize while continuing to eat the foods I enjoyed, and following a more purposeful and targeted workout plan at home! Many of us have heard expressions like, “you can’t out-work a bad diet,” and this was when it finally all clicked for me. You don’t need to live at the gym to look and feel strong and fit! I exercise now because I enjoy it, because cardio supports my mental and heart health, and because I enjoy lifting weights to look and feel strong; it’s no longer about weight-loss.

Fast forward to a few years later, and I feel like I now know that coaching others to feel their best is what I am meant to be doing. I recently completed my Precision Nutrition Level 1 Nutrition Coaching Certification so I can help others become the best versions of themselves. I am excited to share what I have learned about the roles of fitness and nutrition in body composition, so I can help you feel more confident and energized, and live a healthier life!

Food is meant to be enjoyed, so let me help you learn to enjoy it while looking and feeling your best! Yes, you can have both:)
